In Ocularistry, it gives us an immense sense of fulfillment to help someone gain back their sense of self-confidence in their daily lives without letting any obstacles get in their way. Our practice is a collective effort made by our team and the patient’s support network which includes family, friends and eye care professionals. We hope our patients feel our genuine care as they interact with our team through the phases of producing their new prosthesis. It is our mission and goal to be able to help patients throughout the Midwest.

Tim Brakefield, Owner/President

Tim’s educational background began at Samford University in Birmingham, AL.  As an undergraduate he studied abroad in London and Belize. His BA was earned at the University of Alabama Birmingham. He continues his education with the American Society of Ocularists.  A professionally trained Ocularist and life-long artist, Tim applies his passion for the arts to craft visually stunning and highly realistic prosthetics for our patients.  He began his career in Ocularistry with the Cox Family, throughout the Southeast with practices in the following areas:

• Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA

  • Satellite offices in Savannah, Macon, and Augusta

• Parkview Towers outside Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN

  • Satellite offices in Kingsport, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Lexington, and Cincinnati, OH

• Callahan Eye Foundation at the University of Alabama in Birmingham

  • Satellite offices in Montgomery, Mobile, Pensacola, and Huntsville
